Seminarian removed

Non-Jesuit story here, in Columbus OH seminarian sent packing after drunk-driving fatalities.  This is

Mark Rowlands, who pleaded guilty to a weapons charge and attempted impersonation of a law-enforcement officer after a fatal crash last year

when his car hit a tree on the St. Mary of the Lake seminary grounds and two other seminarians were killed.  He was given

two years' probation, fined and told to stay away from drugs and alcohol.

His bishop wished “him well in his future endeavors.”

Before entering the seminary, Rowlands was a deputy for then-Fairfield County Sheriff Gary DeMastry. He pleaded guilty in 2000 to reduced charges for his involvement in DeMastry's corruption case.
