Belleville v. Braxton
Bishop Ed Braxton, formerly pastor of St. Catherine-St. Lucy parish, Oak Park, is running into priestly opposition as he prepares for installation as bishop of downstate Belleville. See St. Louis Post-Dispatch here and here. A Belleville priests’ delegation has met with Cardinal George in Chicago, but George won’t admit it. Some priests also went to Washington to meet the apostolic delegate. They say they got that meeting with George’s help.
