. . . On way out of church this a.m., a church lady, smiling to beat all, took notice of my not being around lately. Uh-oh, I thought, they are coming for me? Not at all, merely concerned, I decided, telling her (a) I'd been around, (b) when she reiterated her concern, continuing to smile, I'd been at this very mass (the 8:30) but had sat in another part of church, where I had noticed her absence.
Just kidding about that last part: I had neither noticed nor ignored her absence, considering it so little of my business as to remain blissfully unaware of it. Still, isn't it nice to know people are watching?
